Pwllheli is just 20 minutes from Trefor (bus will take you there too) and is a great destination with lots to see and do. A market town with a large sandy beach and marina, Pwllheli is very popular in the summer and has a laid back seaside vibe. After exploring the fabulous selection of independent shops in the old part of town, take a picnic down to the beach (a lovely 10-15 minute stroll from the town centre) or grab a spot of lunch in one of the many cafes and restaurants. Pwllheli is also a transport hub for exploring further afield with a train station (for day trips to Porthmadog, Criccieth and Barmouth) and buses to Abersoch, Aberdaron and all over the Llyn peninsula. On a rainy day there is a cinema and leisure centre to help entertain the little ones. For us a visit to Pwllheli is not complete without a cup of tea and a slice of lemon drizzle cake (or chocolate cake or rocky road or arghhh they are all just YUM!) from The Witches Brew Tearooms just opposite the train station and a trip to Farmer and His Wife farm shop on High Street to stock up on jams and THE best apple chutney on the planet!!
